We Can Work It Out
The Beatles had a huge hit in 1966, from their Rubber Soul album, “We Can Work It Out”. The current state of affairs in landlord-tenant relations calls for just that approach. And, there is very little choice in the matter. A moratorium on almost everything is now in effect. First it was Mayor Breed, then it was Governor Newsom. Now the court system has declared its own “shelter in place”.
Tenants, residential and commercial, will ultimately need to pay their rent. Buyers who need to move into their new property will eventually be able to do so. But, not for a while. And tensions are rising. But, government loans, some potentially forgivable, are on the horizon.
